The outpost called
Havat Gilad is situated between the Palestinian villages Imatin, Far'ata, Jit,
Sara and Tel. Settlers from the outpost frequently attack Palestinian farmers
from the said villages as these till their land. The army usually "secures" the
settlers.
On Monday,
21/07/08, settlers from Havat Gilad attacked farmers from Imatin, when the
latter worked their land. Soldiers
arriving on the spot did not prevent the attack, even when a settler sprayed
some chemical and wounded two Palestinians who stood near the soldiers. The
soldiers chased the Palestinians out of their own fields using tear gas and
rubber coated steel bullets. The settlers also burnt some sixty olive trees. On
Thursday, 24/07/08, six settlers came and torched some hundred and thirty olive
trees of Palestinian farmers from Imatin.
